Show Me The Consciousness

This morning a woman came to me and told me she was going to kill herself because she was destitute," a minister told me. "She complained that she did not even have money to eat, and she could not go on."

"So what did you do?" I asked.

"I counseled her to the best of my ability and gave her $25 to buy some groceries. Then, several hours later she showed up at church. I asked her if she had had a decent breakfast, and she informed me that she still hadn't eaten. When I inquired about what she had done with the money I had given her, she told me, 'I bought lottery tickets.'"

There is a theory that if all the money in the world was redistributed equally among every person on the planet, within six months the money would be back in the same hands it came from. The theory is plausible because money, like all events and experiences, comes to us not by economics or fate, but by Right of Consciousness.

Right of Consciousness is a universal law that very few people understand or make use of. It states that the material conditions that surround us are not the result of circumstances or the actions of others, or even our own surface actions. Rather, we magnetize our experiences with the thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and attitudes held. We are all where we deserve to be, not because we are good or bad, but because that is where our thoughts and choices have placed us.

I learned about the Right of Consciousness when I was invited to attend an all-day conference I wasn't quite sure I wanted to attend. At first I declined and then, the night before the program, I called my friend late in the evening and told her I would go. I arrived at her house the next morning late, and on the way to the conference we encountered a huge traffic jam. We arrived after the program had begun, and the only seats left were way up in the back of the balcony of a huge auditorium. I took my seat next to an amiable little bald black man wearing round wire-rimmed glasses eating gum drops. I said hello and then grumbled, "We sure got the farthest seats from the stage, huh?"

He smiled and answered, "It's all perfect. We are where we are by right of consciousness would you like a gum drop?" I was stunned. The man spoke a great truth. The seat I obtained was a perfect reflection of my level of intention to be at that program. I had waited until the last minute to decide, I showed up late to meet my friend, and I created a traffic jam. I have gone to other programs which I had a strong intention to attend, and I was the first one at the door and got a front row seat. The universe was operating perfectly.

This world is a big seminar in which we keep creating what we choose until we discover that we are the source of our own experience. Then, like in the movie Ground Hog Day, we step into our true identity as co-creators with God, and we begin to manifest from a position of joy and celebration.

The good news about the Right of Consciousness is that no matter what pain, negativity, or unfavorable circumstances we have created, we can change it all by upgrading our thoughts and attitude. It does not matter whether a room has been dark for six minutes or six months; the moment you flick on the light switch, light is the reality. Money, sex, fame, or worldly power are not the lights we are trying to flick on. Consciousness or clear vision is the light. Then, proceeding from self-honoring, we create circumstances that reflect heaven.

More good news: other people have no power to add to or take away from what you manifest. There is an infinite supply of good available to everyone. We are all going to the ocean with our buckets, and each of us will reap in accord with what we do with our bucket. If someone else fills his bucket or spills it, it doesn't affect what you are doing with yours. We each have our own abundance account, and we are responsible for its balance.

While riding to a lecture, I complimented my driver on her nice car. "Thank you," she answered. "My husband wants this car as part of our divorce settlement. At first I argued with him, since I brought the car into the marriage. Then I realized that I created this car by right of my consciousness; he can take this car, or six more, and because I have the consciousness, I can always attract another or better."

You probably know people who succeed at whatever they do, and others who seem to fail at whatever they do. That is because "wherever you go, there you are." More accurately, wherever you go, "there your consciousness is." You can always tell what you believe by what you are getting.
