Special Effects Of Color

Throughout history, light and color have been known to create specific effects on the human body and it's various energetic layers. Colors have individual frequencies that are unique to each. These specific individual frequencies directly relate to our body's frequencies, making it possible to effect a change, balancing and harmonizing of ourselves on all levels; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. The goal is to bring the body, mind, and spirit into their natural state of perfection. 

Science that uses colors to affect the body is called, Chromotherapy. This modality works whether or not one can see the actual color. Because color frequency is a sound wave, it has the inherent ability to pass through our energetic field, skin, and internal organs. Active Color Therapy can enhance and compliment conventional healthcare practices. Color touches every area of our being. Following is a basic list of individual colors and their known effects:

RED
Base/Root Chakra

Physically affects the lower portion of the body, and internal organs within the lower abdominal area including the sexual organs. Ignites and stimulates. Life-force energy. Good for circulation. Grounding. Triggers characteristics of ambition, change, anger, war, power, sex, alertness, liberation, and survival. It's a primal color. The medical profession now recognizes red for use in cancer treatment.

ORANGE
Sacral / Spleen Chakra 

Physically affects the area around the naval and upper abdomen; ovaries, spleen, prostate, kidneys bladder, and sacrum. Characteristics of Orange are joy, happiness, warmth, creativity, pleasure, sensuality, sexuality, and generosity. Moves energy gently. Awakens one to wisdom. Eases cramping anywhere in the body, and can lift depression. Acts as a relaxant and is said to boost the immune system. Cleans and purifies the hormonal system.

YELLOW
Solar Plexus Chakra

Physically affects the solar plexus, digestive system, liver, gall bladder, pancreas and adrenals. Yellow is great for mental activity, learning, intellect, concentration and focus. Cheerful, sunny, warm and cleansing. Helps with empowerment, self-esteem, and confidence. Yellow eases fear and emotional instability.

GREEN
Heart Chakra

Physically affects the heart, lungs, breasts, shoulders, arms and hands. Green is sedative, cooling, calming and soothing. It balances the body on the whole. Good for eye problems, bronchitis, gout, diabetes, cysts, tumors, bones, and is an anti-inflammatory, helping with painful joints, and allergies. Characteristics: money prosperity, birth, new beginnings, nature, health, healing, trust, precision work, feelings, harmony, integrity and truth.

BLUE
Throat Chakra

Physically affects the throat, hypothalamus, thyroid, ears, jaw and neck. Blue is cooling, soothing and brings deep inner peace. Great help in communication to allow one to be clearly understood. Boosts creativity, can cool a fever, promote restful sleep, and ease the pain of arthritis. Good for general healing, overall. Characteristics are expression and creativity.

INDIGO / PURPLE / VIOLET
Brow Chakra

Physically affects the pineal, the eyes, and temples. Connects higher mind to all that is. Stimulates emotions, meditation, inspiration, intuition, inner emotional release and helps open the inner doors. Allows vision beyond physical sight. Good for menopause, as a sedative, relaxant, and helps to neutralize mercury from fillings. Purple/Amethyst works well to combat addictions.

WHITE
Crown Chakra

Physically affects the pituitary, brain and head. White contains all colors, so it work on all levels: physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. Characteristics are purity, truth, brilliance, radiance, innocence, and illumination. White resonates with all our Chakras and every part of our being. Helps merge God/Goddess/Universe Nature/Spirit.

This is a very basic list of known effects. There is a huge range of various hues and shades to each of these colors, all having their own subtle vibrations. Each individual's experience with color is unique! Be your own research scientist - experiment!
