Welcome to the expanded version of In Light Times. As I sit here the rain is coming down cleansing the air and renewing the Earth. I love to feel the moist drops and smell the rain - it is so refreshing. Can you sense the peace that comes with a gentle rain or imagine the aromas in the air. Maybe it's because of the rain that I am feeling nostalgic and remembering those times when my friend Pat and I would sit in class and discover a myriad of patterns within the clouds. Of course, the teacher would catch us daydreaming and we would come back to the task at hand for the moment... then it was back to cloud gazing. It was so amazing what we saw. We were young and innocent in those days and amidst the whispers and giggles during class, the deep and philosophical talks, the debating religion with others, Pat and I knew our world was good and life was full of promise. While I don't go to these places in
the mind and heart as often, when I do, it tends to bring to my Soul a
certain tranquility. There is hope and the feeling of optimism is once
again anchored within my Soul as I recall those days. Recalling that past? Absolutely, and I believe that there is a fine line here. We can bring the memories back to life yet, we must be careful not to live in the past. I feel that they are here to help us call to mind the truth of our Soul, the love of our heart and to encourage us to live life to the fullest extent of our being. For those who have been reading In Light Times all these years I wish to thank you. We will soon be at the beginning of our 13th year. There are many plans for our expansion and as we continue to grow in the year 2001 I trust you too will join me in saying, "Life is good and full of promise." It is a great day and even better now that Mercury has gone direct! Hooray, computers can stop the "big freeze" and thaw for Spring's arrival. Well, another month is gone and a new one beginning, so take care my friends, and please, check out the new section "Around the World," our March question on page 21 in the Talk Forum and all the articles that may touch your heart and mind. Have a wonderful moment in time... daydream and dare to see what's in the clouds. To my dear friend Pat, thank you for the memories. Michelene Bell
