Spirituality Matters

The subtle energetic essence of which the mystics spoke was intuitively sensed by Stephen Lewis, just as he knew that there is more to the human body than the physical. He understood that if everything is energy, then anything can be changed. Everything is energy. You, me, trees, emotions, illnesses, everything. And everything vibrates at a unique frequency, including diseases - through the causal, mental, energetic bodies and the spirit. These so-called “subtle bodies” were written about 500 years before Christ in the Yoga Sutras. 

In these writings, the sage Patanjali indicated how energetic imbalances are transmitted through pathways in these subtle bodies, and if not released, may be passed on through generations. Such imbalances cause the body to get out-of-sync with its own processes resulting in the possibility of a family pattern of early heart-attack deaths, for instance, or cancer. We now live in an age, however, in which people are waking up to the possibilities of energy healing; energetic imbalances can be resolved. After one hundred years of applied electricity and the evolution of thought, people have started to make connections between religious concepts and the way the world actually works. The idea that everything is energy has started to manifest in more and more areas of our lives.

We are now in a phase of our evolution wherein we can heal not only the imbalances, but also that which caused them. We need to bring our inner subtle-energy forces into balance so that our internal self-organizing principle will create in our body, mind, emotions and spirit a state of well-being. Instead of approaching disease medically, from the outside in, this kind of healing works from the inside out. We, individually, must be the motivating force of the work, with enough energy and personal power to bring ourselves back to an optimum state after our energies have been brought into balance. What matters is the negative energy that we’re carrying with us now. Above and beyond that, what matters is what we have to do to remove that energetic field.

Now more than ever it becomes critical that we respond rapidly to the changes in our environment; it has become essential to our survival. The problems in our environment are symptoms of the energetic imbalance that now exists in our society. The cause of this problem is, very simply, that for hundreds of years now, we have worshiped a technology that is not beholden to anything and is not responsible to anything. It’s technology for technology’s sake. If you can do it, do it. But the technology of a culture must be in the service of, and be subordinate to the spirituality of that culture, or it becomes a heartless, soulless cannibal. It’s tantamount to introducing Frankenstein to your extended family. 

Technology must begin to serve spiritual values, the kind that is evident in Native American and most indigenous cultures. The point is to not create anything that destroys where we live. That is part of our inherent spirituality. We shouldn’t create things that are destructive and out of control because that violates our spiritual code.

We, humanity, are an interdependent trinity. If our brain is not mitigated by our heart and our soul, there are no checks and balances to prevent it from creating eventual and catastrophic destruction in its pursuit of relatively instant and temporary gratification. Unfortunately, that is precisely what we have allowed to happen. We have permitted, even encouraged, blind, greedy, irresponsible technology for hundreds of years now which has culminated in the creation of an energetic imbalance so monumental that it cannot be dealt with technologically. It can only be transcended by applied spirituality and consciousness. That is our collective karma, and is the message of this millennium. By elevating our consciousness to the collective level, something very similar to karma exists, causing us to be forced to a choice point. The only solution is to have our technology become subordinate to, and begin to serve, our spirituality. Then, ironically enough, virtue will indeed become its own reward, because the highest law is natural law, which is spirituality, which is consciousness, which is the Law of God. Spiritual technology can help us heal ourselves.
