Metaphysical Spiritual Holistic Publication
Editor, Michelene Bell PLANT NEW SEEDS FOR YOUR SYSTEMS THIS SPRING!

By Brenda Prinzavalli

It is Spring and time to plant new seeds in your life by putting new organized systems into place. As a newly planted seed must break through the shell and ground, you too must break through old habits to create a new system that will take you to new heights. A new plant grows slow and steady and for your system to be effective, you will need to be committed to the steady growth of your new habits. Being committed to the system will pay off when new buds of efficiency pop into your days and the final reward is when you have a blossom of free time, clutter-free space or more income from effective working systems.

You might say, “I don’t have a system for processing my mail.” Guess what? Whatever you currently do IS your system. Systems are the actions and practices you currently take that get you to your end results. Do you like the results of your system? If it’s not getting you what you want or where you want to be, then it’s time to change the system.

Here are some aspects of home and work life that are system driven. Review the list to see if you need to modify or organize any of them to make your life more streamlined and more efficient.

Around The House

Kitchen - meal preparation, grocery management

Mail & Paper - processing, filing

Money - management, tracking

Activities - scheduling, kids homework & extra curricular

Household - repairs, home improvements

In Your Work Environment

Contact Management - clients, potential clients, vendors

Inventory - ordering, stocking, tracking

Business Management - invoicing

Anything in your life that you do repeatedly can use an organized system to make the process more efficient and provide you with more free time.

What does it take to transform a system? An assessment of the process will get you started. You will keep the components that are working and revise the actions that are always a struggle or seem to take the most amount of time. Incorporate technology in as many steps as possible. Even if it is grocery management, you can print up a “most frequently purchased items” checklist and then you are not writing the same things over and over. Make sure that the location and structure not only support your process, make it fun and pleasing to be in that space!
