Using specific points on the hands, we begin the process of sensitivity testing using the MSA. A brass stylus, or probe, is used by the examiner to gently press and hold a certain acupuncture point, while the client completes the circuit with a hand-held brass bar, enabling the machine to read the energy current of the acupuncture point. The current is so slight that the client feels nothing, except the gentle pressure of the probe. Using a list of possible substances that can cause a sensitivity, a reading is measured and registered electronically against this list. The MSA accurately measures the energy flow of the meridian, detecting any blockages, therefore correctly identifying any stress that may be caused by the substance. This blocked energy flow is the first step that can develop into an allergic response. Allergies can cause illness with symptoms that include vomiting, fatigue, fever, aches, and pains, just to name a few. These are the signs of the struggle that is being waged inside the body as it attempts to purge the invading toxins. If left untreated, the symptoms only worsen.
