Fibromyalgia, Aching For Love
By Celia Sue Hecht
My health coach suggested EMDR and rebirthing, magnesium, AG Immune and other supplements. I did
EMDR, rebirthing and a year-long group where we healed birth patterns, did trauma healing and Reichian work. My health and happiness improved immensely. Within a week of taking AG Immune, 95% of my symptoms disappeared.
Two years later, I did three sessions with healers and felt a resurgence of energy. I began to write again, wanting to share the gifts and wisdom I’d gained. I also experienced new successes in my career as a writer and publicist which has brought much more joy and meaning to my life.
Through fibro, I was challenged to surrender to a higher power, God, Goddess, All That Is and my spiritual guides for help. I developed a relationship with my Higher Self that has grown, matured, enriched my life and fulfilled me in ways I could not have imagined.
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that we truly are spiritual beings. Healing has brought me many wonderful rewards, freedom and liberation from my body, fears, emotional bondage, and mental constraints.
Yet a life without pain can seem scary, like facing an abyss. But remember Carly Simon’s song, I Haven’t Got Time for the Pain… “All those crazy nights, I cried myself to sleep, now melodrama doesn’t make me weep anymore because I haven’t got time for the pain…suffering was the only thing that made me feel I was alive, thought that’s just how much it cost to survive in this world, till you showed me how, how to fill my heart with love, how to open up and drink in all that white light pouring down from the heavens…now I haven’t got time for the pain, I haven’t got room for the pain, not since I found you.”
Just as we cannot exist without air, water, and food, we need Love to not only survive, but to thrive. In our panic, shame, and/or anger, we are distracted but there is another way to live that is easier, more loving, gentler, truthful, joyous, and PAIN FREE!
This is where the true work begins…the Journey Home to Divine Love. Coming to terms with the fact that we are not alone. You are not alone. I am not alone. We never were and never will be alone. Poof! So much for our sad stories and poor little me’s!
Our soul knows and hears our anguished cries for help. Our soul, the Keeper of our Truth is the connector; no matter what we consciously believe about the divine. The soul is the missing puzzle piece and is often squelched, mangled, and/or distorted. Our soul loves us and never abandons us, never forgets us, even when we think otherwise. Our soul is that forever friend we’ve been running from and longing to find. Our soul will do anything and everything to help us know that God, Goddess, All That Us loves us—even if that means, midlife crisis, pain, illness, suffering and misery, a difficulty like Fibromyalgia that brings us to our knees asking, questioning, searching, longing for, and literally aching for divine love. Our soul hears our pain, and wants us to come home free of the pain. Free of the suffering. free of all distress. Our soul welcomes us home and guides us along the journey. If only we will hear and heed its call.
Our soul calls to us through beauty, our talents, gifts, love or through crisis and difficulty (most common). Whatever makes our heart resonate is an indication of what kind of connection we have with our soul. Yet, often when a trauma happens, such as when a loved one dies, we don’t allow the healing process or the grief cycle to unfold. Instead, we close our hearts, shut down, become numb, hold onto the shock, stuff our pain into our bodies and become sick. Illness is a clue signaling we have temporary amnesia and are disconnecting from our soul. The solution is to reconnect through art, music, learning to communicate and basking in the beauty of nature.
