A Time Of Soul Searching

Let me begin by wishing you love, light, laughter, joy and peace. The season has arrived and this is a time when people are at their best. When giving from the heart makes us feel all warm inside. Granted, it can be a crazed time of the year with the shopping sprees and trying to meet all the extra demands we place upon ourselves. And yes, the holidays can be very stressful on one side of the coin and then a blessing on the flipside. In all, this time of year shows us what we are all about. 

Have you ever stopped to contemplate what makes the holidays special? Is it the lights and carols? The gift giving and receiving? The many parties and social gatherings? The time spent with family and friends? Or maybe it’s the renewal of one’s faith? Perhaps it’s all of them.

What exactly is the magic behind Christmas? Why is it one of the most celebrated of holidays around the world? What does Christmas mean to you?

For me, it is opening my heart to the goodness of the people. It is about sharing and being together with loved ones. It is age old traditions being renewed and it revolves around faith.

It is the time of year when all the elements are in play. Generosity, compassion, joy, love, contemplation and bonding…just to name a few.

Now my question is, “how do we hang onto these warm feelings? How do we keep the magic in our daily lives? How do we become the ambassadors of love, light and peace…especially after the holidays pass? Why are we willing to settle for one moment in time to express our true natures? Why do we have to wait for the holidays to bring out our loving, giving selves?

How do we capture the feelings that we express this holiday season and live them throughout the year?

I know there are many questions and I believe that if we are honest with ourselves, we will discover the answers.

Christmas is a time when we, as a society, are focusing on an event. With so much energy being directed, in a unified manner, the vibrations of our emotions brings to light what is possible. So, if we were to maintain a certain, unified vision, say for peace, then the magic of Christmas extends throughout the year.

It is time to remember why we celebrate the holidays. Regardless of which holiday you partake in, or what you call it, it is an honoring of that event. It is more than just an extra day off from work, it is an opportunity to unite our souls, our thoughts and emotions to the good of all humanity.
